Indian Cinema - do we lack vision??

I just came back after watching Ashutosh Gowarikar's 'Jodhaa Akbar' and felt that Indian Cinema is loosing direction. Its taken the director 2 years and 40crores to make the movie, but I just don't feel that the time and money spent is reflected in the final outcome. We have the stories, we have the history, we have talented actors, musicians and directors but somehow, somewhere, we drop out of proportion.

Its not technology which is required to make a good movie, its vision. We dont require 'Terminator 2' or 'Lord of the Rings' to prove our standards. We just need 'Swadesh' or 'Tare Zameen Par' to prove our class. Why is that we get a movie like these only once in 2 years?

Entertainment has its wild side with fast cars, blazin guns, hot bodies and extreme action but it also has its classy and simple side which we're not bothered about I guess. In my opinion, we should move our concentration to simpler things and not complicate our movies. I'd love to see our movies with impeccable flow of thoughts, aptly paced and simple themes.

Good luck Indian Cinema!
